Miss Buckskin World”

“I am beyond thankful for the gifts 2018 has given me!”

Through hard work and determination, I can say that I am now, Miss Buckskin World. A title that I’ve been dreaming about since I was three years old. However, this was not easy. At the IBHA World Show, the queen contestants had many tasks at hand. We had two horsemanship patterns we had to complete on two different days. Next, was a speech at the Exhibitors’ Party along with a few questions. We also had a personal interview during the World Show week. And also, throughout the show we had a secret judge that judged us behind the scenes. In between times, we passed out awards to the class winners.

Besides being honored to be ISBA Queen, I was also ISBA Youth Team Captain and I competed for the Youth 14-18 All-Around saddle. Fortunately, I was able to win it also.

Exciting things are happening during my reign as Miss Buckskin World. During the months of March and April I will be traveling every weekend to Horse Fairs. Some including Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois, and many, many more. I’m currently working on a proposal for Cowboy Church at the Buckskin World Show in 2019.

Mostly, I would like to thank many people in making this possible. Starting off, I would personally like to thank the Illinois club for being my backbone and supporting me in every way they could. If I needed anything, you bet I had it! I truly would not have wanted to represent any other club and you guys are as close as family to me. Of course, my family and close close friends, THANK YOU for the strong encouraging words and always being by my side through it all. I could not ask for a more supporting family and I love each and every one of you. Finally, and most importantly, I would like to thank God. For allowing me to dream with my eyes open every day of my life. The talent I have is a gift, from God, and I hope what I do with it, is my gift back to him.

Love,

Alexis
